I took the job because it came with a room. The room had a window. It looked out on rocks and nothing that moved. A perfect place to put a console and start broadcasting.
Most nights there’s nobody out there. Some nights there’s a freighter crew. Doesn’t change what I play.
In the morning I play the loud ones. Guitars, drums. People going to work want something with a spine.
Noon lightens up. Afternoons get the retro shimmer. Evenings get the moody ones.
Midnight belongs to the long haul. That’s for the drivers out on the dust.
Weekends I turn it up. Sundays I slow it down. Country, soul, whatever the road asks for.
